Our bespoke fabrics are created in Britain, using a combination of hand and machine processes, currently with printing and weaving. These techniques require skill and fine craftsmanship. We sew all our wall hangings and cushions near our head office in Manchester, to ensure the excellent quality of our products.
We also offer a bespoke fabric design service. Please contact us for further details.
Designs are translated into woven textiles, becoming 3D structures which can combine different fibres, such as silk, linen, and cotton. Today, Jacquard weaving allows for a mix of colours, effects and textures that can be highly intricate and sculptural. Cocoon’s woven fabrics play on these characteristics, creating an excellent quality product and continuing Britain’s textile story.
Printing textiles involves impregnating the fabric surface with a design. Cocoon’s fabrics are printed by hand, using silkscreen printing, as well as digitally. We print onto a range of fabrics including organic cotton and bamboo, as well as testing different finishes such as rust and metallic prints.
We experiment throughout the fabric creation process, in order to develop an individual and authentic collection.
